The Recombinant Human Mesothelin MSLN is derived from mammalian cells with purity over 92% on SDS-PAGE. It contains AA Glu296-Gly580 and the molecular weight of this domain is 59.6kDa, and a human IgG1 Fc tag was fused at N-terminus.
Recombinant Human Mesothelin is valuable in cancer research as a target for therapy. It is also used for detecting anti-MLSN antibodies in functional ELISA.
Mesothelin is widely expressed in normal mesothelial cells, oncogenic mesothelial cells, and ovarian cancer cells. Faulty expression of MSLN plays a role in the multiplication and invasion of tumors.
When it is overexpressed, mesothelin may induce MAPK, PI3K, and NF-kB pathways. The induction of these pathways plays a part in the metastasis, proliferation, and survival of cancerous cells. Mesothelin also interacts with CA125 to facilitate the implantation of ovarian cancer cells in the peritoneum and the migration of carcinogenic pancreas cells by altering cellular adhesion.
